Lacock Estate Conservation Management Plan
We prepared a Conservation Management Plan for the internationally important Lacock Estate, with its grade I listed abbey, Registered Park and Garden and village of outstanding architectural interest. Working with specialists we also advised upon the abbey's interior collections and the property's rich archaeological resource. Through a combination of field survey, archival research and graphical analysis we gained a detailed understanding of the site's many and fascinating significances, including a lost formal water garden designed by Stephen Switzer. With involvement from the community, the Plan also captured the contribution of the ephemeral qualities of the site that are such a key aspect of Lacock, yet one that is often hard to define at historic properties. We completed this project whilst at LUC.
